‘Tales of the Tarkine’ a photo and art exhibition by photographer Craig Wall and artist Michelle Ball told a story of a precious landscape in Tasmania, Tarkine. Held at The Royal Botanic Gardens Palm House, the collaborative exhibition aimed to help raise awareness about the Tarkine’s fragility and need for protection.
Tarkine (Takanya) is the largest temperate rainforest in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning some 495,000 hectares. During their travels, Walls and Ball witnessed the potentially devastating effects of logging and mining in this ancient corner of the state and returned with a desire to conserve it for future generations.
A portion of the exhibition sales will go to the Bob Brown Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation working to preserve our country’s ecosystems.
