LBB Online ‘Style Guide’: Staying Alive with Lula Cucchiara
The Sam I Am photographer and director doesn’t see brand and personal style as oppositional. “It’s about getting a feel for what makes the brand itself distinct, then adding your voice in a way that helps that story land.”
Lula Cucchiara is a queer, multidisciplinary Latinx photographer, director, and artist whose work is a bold, spontaneous celebration of diversity, youth, and contemporary culture.
Originally from Córdoba, Argentina, Lula grew up in New Zealand, where she lived for 15 years before crossing the ditch three years ago to make Sydney home. With a background spanning film, art, and fashion, she’s collaborated with brands including Adidas, Mercedes-Benz, Virgin, Sydney Airport, Flybuys, Lotto, Commbank, Modibodi, and Kathmandu.
Her first feature documentary, ‘Fiona Clark: Unafraid’, premiered at the New Zealand International Film Festival in 2021, following its selection for Cannes Docs | Marché du Film in 2020.
