Aimée-Lee Xu Hsien Curran is an award-winning Writer/Director, six-foot tall and Chirish (Chinese-Irish). Creating work defined by rich visuals and memorable performances across both comedy and drama, her commercials, short films and music videos are unified by a unique attention to detail in production design and colour.
Her work has been selected for over 25 international film festivals; her short film Jump winning Best Short Film at the Academy Award-accredited Palm Springs International ShortFest amongst others. Season Two of the web series Syd2030, directed by Aimée-Lee, won Best International Web Series at the LA Film, TV & Webisode Festival, and was a Finalist at the Melbourne WebFest and Dublin WebFest.
Aimée-Lee is a 2019 Australian Women in Music Awards nominee in the Film category, recognising her prolific body of work in music videos. She has directed music videos for a host of acclaimed artists including Lime Cordiale and Aria-award nominees Thundamentals, Hellions, and Ruby Boots. Her commercial directing includes spots for H&M, CommBank, PayPal and Ad Standards.
Aimée-Lee also teaches Directing at the Academy of Film, Television & Theatre, Sydney.
